Blending natural dyed wool using a hackle

Hand spun yarn single with heathered tones of spicey red earth browns achieved by bending three wool colours on the hackle: madder dyed wool and natural brown corriedale wool. Spun yarn single is 32 wraps per inch (WPI: 32).

The blend below uses:

  • Madder dyed white merino wool roving: 17g wool (madder 20% weight of fabric)

  • Eucalyptus cinerea bark dyed white merino wool roving: 30g wool.
